okay. so i have a layout made any everything and i know how to put it into an internet explorer window after i save it in the notepad...but my problem is that it isn't showing up. it's either all the text or just the background. can anyone tell me how the hell to make it show up!?! I'm soo desperate!

did you try putting it into an actual myspace profile, posting the code will help.
If the code appears alone, it is because there is an error at the beginning of your code that does not tell the browse what type of coding you are using.
if the background appears, it may be because you are not putting the code to use, for instance, the code says what to do with a table, (make it black for instance) but if there is not table, nothing will happen, try posting into a myspace profile, and getting back to me.
