I had a friend do my existing page for me, but now I want to change it entirely. Not the text, but the look of the page itself.

It is way too hard (and not worth it) to learn html just for that. However you could use a free online editor to make your page like Thomas myspace editor. Or just search google for a myspace editor, and then edit the page, and it will spit out the html code for you.

Its not hard to learn HTML and once u learn it it can be fun aswell. Go to www.w3schools.com and there you can learn how to make codes and change page background all that kind of stuff. However there are free myspace layouts services that u can use. U just put in what you want and they give you the code.

Basic HTML is very simple to learn! My best suggestion would be to get a small book, preferably with illustrations, on how to code HTML. Since this is for a MySpace, make sure the book covers how to do tables.
